But its for a good cause!...

I know I havnt been updating this as much as I should be, but I've been completely scattered around recently.

An update on what's been happening since I've last been on, I visited the nurses at Bournemouth hospital and they gave me great feedback and advice on what I've already done, and things that need to be done.

I also got to meet the people that run the charity that I'm doing all of this for :)

The two women that work for the charity are amazing and gave me some really helpful advice, and I know that they will be there for me when I need any help with anything.

I am currently finishing up work on the tickets and posters and hope to get them out and around in the next couple of weeks :D yay!!

Visited a few more little towns to try and get some clothes for the show but no luck so far, visited bournemouth, but they didnt really have the boutique feel I was going for and visited Christchurch, Dorset area, which had beautiful boutiques which I dropped some cards into but no responses as of yet :( Which is a great shame because some of them would be amazing. 

So my next move is to call up the shops I visited and get a definite answer from them, whether they would like to be involved or not, at least then I would know for certain!

It is for a good cause and I just wish more people would want to be involved!!

So giving out cards we made the other day to retailers in Lymington proved actually very useful as today I got a call from the beautiful clothes retailer Mistral who have said they are more then happy to work with us, to provide clothing for the models !!! They have also said they would love to come and help us out with dressing and any other needs we may have, she sounded really lovely on the phone and really keen to help with our cause. She also asked whether or not we had found a group to do the hair and make-up for the show because if not she may know someone who works for Jason Jones and might be able to get a group together to help us out to!! Lots of positive things have happened this morning and have made me extremely happy :)

I also contacted a florist concerning center pieces for the tables and am hoping to also get a positive response from her. This week I am also heading down to the Royal Hospital in Bournemouth to speak to the nurses on the Breast Cancer ward, and get all the opinions and views they have on the show, and what we can do!

Finally Getting There!

Last night I got my boyfriend to design some beautiful leaflet type cards, to give to retailers to ask whether or not they may be able to provide either clothes, raffle prizes or gift bag items for the show. They came out really nice and I think they work well to give to retailers , they have a simple design, but one that is straight to the point. So today I went into the town of Lymington and asked a few shops that I thought looked nice or had items that would be of interest to those at the show. I gave out a few cards and am hoping to hear back from the shops I visited, some sounded very keen to help where as a few others sounded less excited to help and probably wont give it a second thought!

My next mission is to get into Lyndhurst and see if I can do the same in that town, I would also love to find a florist that would be willing to help make some flower arrangements for the centre of the tables on the night of show, as I have now chosen to have a number of round tables for guests to sit around instead of the usual theatre style seats.

These pictures show both the back and the front of the cards given to the retailer, these are a small example of what I would want the tickets and posters for the show to look like. These leaflets do not show the logos of the Charity and the Hotel but the posters will show both of these.

I am extremely happy with the way these leaflets have turned out now lets just hope we get some good news because of them !!

Other items on the Agenda

Other then the venue I have been working on a few other things as well , I may have found someone who will be able to control all the music throughout the night which is great!  I have also had a couple of responses from those I contacted about having their own stall for the night, these were a couple of lovely ladies I met last summer whilst working on a different event. One of the stall holders works for pampered chef which is a company that does a really lovely range of kitchen ware and is one of those businesses that also holds parties in the home such as a candle party or a Anne summers party for instance. The second company is Forever living products, whose products are all based around the use of Aloe Vera, this company is really interesting and before I knew about them didn't know Aloe Vera could be used for so much!! Both of these stalls would be really nice to have at the show because I think women would appreciate both companies for their different uses :). Venue Images

These are just a couple of images from the Beaulieu Hotel where the charity fashion show will be held, the rooms are beautiful and will be just perfect. The main room extends so that we will be able to fit in around 150 people, and the room with the bar will be where I hope to have around 5 stalls both selling various products and promoting the charity. :) Its coming together slowly but its getting there !!

Whats been going on!!

Sorry I have not been updating my blog recently been weighed down with all of the stuff that's going on, and I have been very ill :( .

But...

The biggest change that's  happened since my last post was WE GOT A VENUE!!!

The show will be held at the Beaulieu hotel in the New forest!!, It is a beautiful hotel with two really great rooms that will be just perfect for the show!

The event team at the hotel have been incredibly helpful and so supportive of the show and charity , this particular hotel is part of the New Forest hotels team, and I really look forward to working with them.

They have provided us with both the rooms and a bar for the night all free of charge, they will help with the setting up of the venue and any other help I might need :)

This is a huge weight off my shoulders and now provides us with a date to 24TH MAY 2013....

This now means I can sort out everything else to do with the show as we have a venue and date to tell all providers!
