Progress Is slower then SLOW

Had absolutely no progress what so ever, through no fault of my own though which is unfortunate, I've been trying really hard to find a venue which responses either being they cannot help due to lack of budget that I do not have any of, or they have to many bookings for that date and are already busy .

This is really getting me down now and is proving very unmotivational.

Today though I will be contacting those venues who have either shown interest and were looking into helping  or those who have just yet to reply.

I have though had a reply from the nurses saying I can meet them possibly this week or next, it isnt as soon as I would like but this gives me the chance to hopefully get the venue and stuff sorted before I meet them, so that I actually have some good news for them!

Well wish me Luck

Very Slow Progress :(

I did not post yesterday as it was valentines day and i was out enjoying myself on the day of LOVE!

But currently I am not having much luck with venues willing to offer their services to me for free :(

this is proving incredibly difficult and after having so much hope the other day has bought me back down again, but on wards and upwards as they say.

I have had one venue reply saying they already host so many charity events a year they just do not have the time or space for us as they have already booked another fashion show, this one was a real shame as it was the main venue the professor who suggested this event asked me to look at.

The second reply said that they could give me the space for free as long as I was willing to pay for all of the guests to eat, this was either £40 or £25 a head, this would be for around 100 people and that's a lot of money, especially when I have absolutely no budget whatsoever!

This project is proving quite difficult, as I've been speaking to the other girls about their shows, mine seems to look as if it has the most work that needs to be done. Both the other shows already had venues and budgets ready for them, that is two massive hurdles overcome that i still have to face!!

One of the other shows already had clothes to, which is going to be another difficult thing for me , which is finding clothes and retailers willing to lend clothes for the show.

I'm hoping that since my show has the most work to be done and I've been given it alone, if I ever manage to accomplish it, it will show people that I am capable of producing an event.

I want this to be really special, it would mean a lot to a lot of people and its for an incredible cause, I just need to keep my head up and hope that a venue will say YES!!

Venue Progress

I've had around 4 responses back to the emails I sent out yesterday to the venues I've been looking at. They  all sounded hopeful and make me feel a lot more positive about being able to find the venue that we need for FREE!!

I also met up with a 2nd year PR student today who was lovely and will be taking a lot of jobs off of my hands regarding the promotion side of this show.

We discussed getting the show into the media through local radio and newspapers, once the venue and the date have been confirmed.
This will hopefully get the attention needed to sell tickets and give the breast cancer charity the much needed awareness it deserves!

Once I have met with the nurses from the ward at the Royal Bournemouth, we can get started with the design of the new logo and tag line for the charity which will be a great new way to promote the charity.

So that was today, lets see what tomorrow brings...

Venue Searching

Currently looking at suitable venues to hold the show at, looking at beautiful hotels around the new forest, with large enough rooms to hold a catwalk and around 150 people.

I was considering holding the show outside in one of the gardens of the hotel, but there is no way of knowing what the great British weather is going to bring us in the so called summer, so that idea was unfortunately ruled out :(

I have also today gained a 2nd year PR student who is interested in working with me on the show which is great! any help is valued help!

I hope to meet up with the nurses from the Bournemouth hospital breast cancer wing sometime this week or the beginning of next, when it does happen I will hopefully gain their opinions and ideas towards the show, I will also meet some friends of the nurses who have previously also produced charity fashion shows.

I have been looking around for local fashion shows that are coming up but haven't seem to find any just yet, fortunately London Fashion week starts soon and I hope to get up their to witness a few of their shows and just how incredible they are!!

The initial stages...

For my Final Major Project I have been chosen to produce a fashion show for the amazing cause that supports those with Breast cancer. I will be working along side The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Southampton Solent University.

This project is incredibly daunting and without a budget, a venue or any models seems impossible. But I hope to overcome all of these hurdles, and produce an incredible night of fun and fashion for those that have been involved with the horrible threat of Breast Cancer.

Throughout this blog I will try and update the progress I have made in all the different areas of the fashion, hopefully we will see all the steps needed to produce such a big event and hopefully see the final product as envisaged.

Follow me on my journey to producing my first ever solo event and cross your fingers for me, because I'm going to need it!!!
